Royal Plaza Hotel, Kowloon, Hong Kong

This luxury 5 star hotel is situated in Mong Kok in the heart of Kowloon.  Boasting 699 guest rooms over 18 floors, there are some spectacular views to be had.  The Royal Plaza Hotel is attached to the famous seven storied shopping centre known as Moko Mall.  The bottom level has an MTR that connects to Mong Kok East Station.

The foyer is quite grand and on checking in we were upgraded to a Club Room on the 18th floor.  The room was large (especially for Asian standards) and we had a great view outside our window.  Four bottles of water were waiting for us and were just what we needed to rehydrate. The bathroom was beautiful and the kids made sure they swam in the lovely pool before we left.  The hotel had a well equipped gym, three restaurants and broadband internet.

The buffet breakfast looked amazing and there appeared to be an extensive selection of food.  However, there was also an excellent food court right outside so we chose to eat there instead.  Having the shopping centre and the MTR located in the same complex was very convenient and we enjoyed stretching our legs walking around the grand shopping centre after the long flight.

Pros:

Beautiful hotel and thanks to the staff for their wonderful service and the upgrade

Well located with the added bonus of the MTR and MOKO Mall

Great views from the room

Well sized and appointed rooms that included a bath tub

Extremely well priced

Cons:

Breakfast was expensive

In Summary: A beautiful hotel that was surprisingly inexpensive.  I highly recommend Royal Plaza Hotel and would very happily stay there again next time I’m in Hong Kong.
