Sky RIder Motor Inn, Katoomba, Blue Mountains

We spent three nights here and chose this place based on its positive reviews along with the fact it was ranked No. 1 in Katoomba on TripAdvisor .  It was also fairly well priced at $160/night for our family of four. 

Blue Mountains Katoomba Sky Rider Hotel

The Motor Inn is a bit dated but I think the owners are in the process of doing it up.  Breakfast is available at the hotel with a choice of continental or hot food for purchase although we chose to eat breakfast in town.   As the Family 4 rooms had all booked out, we had to pay a bit more for a Family 5 room.  All beds were in the same open planned space rather than having separate bedrooms.  The outdoor pool and BBQ area would be nice in the warmer weather.

There was a bit of road noise and the air conditioner above our bed was noisy.  However, due to the choice available, the handy location and the reasonable price offered by the Sky Rider Motor Inn, I would probably stay here again.

Pros

Convenient location close to town

Well priced compared to other places around

Rooms big enough to accommodate larger families

Cons 

A bit dated

Noisy being next to a busy road and a noisy air conditioner

No separate bedrooms in Family room (this could be a positive though if you are travelling with smaller children and want to keep an eye on them)

In Summary:  the location was handy being close to town and judging by other hotels we passed in the area, the Sky Rider Motor Inn was probably the pick of them.
