Holiday Inn (now Four Points by Sheraton), San Diego, California review – June 2009

Four Points by Sheraton, (was Holiday Inn) San Diego, California, USA

At the time we stayed here it was a Holiday Inn hotel but in 2012 was taken over by Four Points by Sheraton.  The hotel offers 360 degree views of San Diego Bay and Downtown.  It is located close to the airport with complimentary shuttle buses.

The round shape allows for 360 degree views

With easy access to the freeway, it makes it convenient getting places but at the same time adds to the noise levels inside the room.  The hotel is not far from Little Italy and is just a short drive to the Cruise terminal.  Compared with other hotels in San Diego, this one is quite well priced.  Especially if you don’t have a car with you that you need to park.

Pros:

Well priced

Close to the airport and cruise terminal

Lovely 360 degree views of the Bay and Downtown

Cons:

No fridge or microwave in the room

No buffet breakfast – although breakfast is offered at a cost

Due to its location, a bit noisy

In Summary: The old Holiday Inn provided us with a comfortable night’s sleep and was competitively priced.  It is however in a poorer part of town with a large number of homeless people sleeping out on the streets.
