I chose the Grand Millenium as one of our places to stay in KL due to a Youtuber’s recommendation as well as the fact it was well priced and reviewed pretty well too. Its best attributes were its location, attractive lobby and great buffet breakfast.
Address
160 Bukit Bintang Street Bukit Bintang , 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Date stayed
Monday 12th August 2019 for three nights
Price
$508.50 AUD for 3 nights + 10 MYR per night tourism tax for the three nights. This rate included buffet breakfast for two each day. We booked through Agoda who had the best rate at the time.
Room Type
We paid for a Deluxe room and on check in were upgraded to a room on the 17th floor but without the other features that come with it such as access to the club lounge, a dry cleaning allowance and drinks each evening. We were grateful to be given a nicer room on a higher floor. Once in our room, a staff member from the Hotel brought us up a huge piece of Red Velvet cake to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It looked and tasted delicious.

Breakfast
The Mill Cafe offers an excellent variety of Mediterranean, Asian and Western food. From noodle soups, steamed buns and dim sum in the Asian section to Middle Eastern dishes I’ve never seen before, Indian curries with Naan bread and accompaniments and local Malaysian specialities like Nasi Goreng, Noodle dishes and Nasi Lamak. A Western selection including cereals, pastries and a donut or bagel wall was also on offer. The problem was there was so much delicious tasting food and I knew my tummy was not big enough to try it all.
Places we visited nearby
Pros
- Superb location within easy walking distance of shopping centres, the CBD and attractions.
- Beautiful foyer
- Attractive swimming pool
- Upgrade given along with a large piece of Red Velvet Chocolate cake to celebrate our anniversary.
- Well priced
- Large floor to ceiling windows
- Large selection of food at the breakfast buffet
- Free parking
Cons
- Room was showing its age with much of the furniture looking quite dated
- Bath mat was frayed around the edges and needed replacing
- Only one towel was out and when I pulled out another from the cupboard it smelled bad
Summary
In its day, this would have been a beautiful hotel. However, the rooms are showing signs of needing some renovations. Despite this we found the staff lovely, the foyer beautiful, the breakfast selection extensive and the location very handy. After a revamp of the rooms, I would definitely stay here again.
