For our overnight stay in Nowra with hubby’s parents we wanted something cheap, well located and that reviewed well. The Marriott Park Motel happened to fit all these criteria and it turned out to be a good choice.

Price

$115 for one night room only booked directly through the hotel. I was quoted more than this when I called but they reluctantly agreed to match the price I could get it for online through Agoda.

Room Type

• Queen room (30 square metres).  We were in rooms 9 and 10
• All 16 air-conditioned rooms are non-smoking and don’t allow pets
• Double and twin rooms are also available

Location

Situated opposite Marriott Park, the location is handy with direct access to the Princes Highway and a 5 to 10 minute walk into the CBD.  I was a little concerned about the road noise but was woken by the noisy corellas instead.

Check-in/Check-out

• Check-in 1pm – 9pm
• Check-out 10am
• Express check-in and check-out is available.  Accounts must be settled the night before for express check-out.
• Reception hours are 7am-9pm Monday to Friday and 8am-8pm weekends and public holidays.

Parking

Complimentary self-parking is available onsite just outside your room for one vehicle. As parking spots are not allocated, it means they are not guaranteed.  However the carpark seemed relatively empty when we were there so parking was never an issue.

Wi-Fi

Free unlimited WiFi is available in all rooms and some public areas within the motel grounds.  We did find the internet to be very slow however and at some stages unusable.

Breakfast is not included in the room rate but can be ordered using the breakfast menu in your room.  Breakfast is served between 7am and 8am.  Orders must be submitted by 8pm the night before.  As the shops were so close we didn’t eat at the motel.

Pros

• Complimentary WiFi and parking
• Recently renovated
• Rooms are clean and beds comfortable
• Conveniently located close to Nowra’s CBD
• Small bottle of fresh milk and biscuits in room
• Good sized shower

Cons

• WiFi was very slow and at times not workable
• No laundry facilities on site
• One of the lights over the bed was not working
• Some traffic noise being close to the highway although I didn’t find it a problem

Summary

We found Marriott Park Motel to be good value.  It was well priced compared with other accommodation in Nowra and was well located.  Having recently been renovated the place felt modern and fresh.  The bathroom was also nice with the shower being a good size.  Although we didn’t eat at the motel, the microwave, fridge and toaster would be good on longer stays.  The only downside was the internet connection didn’t seem to work very well.  Otherwise I would happily stay here again when visiting Nowra.
