We needed somewhere to stay for the night before heading out of the city the following day and this place was well priced and well located.  Whilst it seemed it was designed for longer stays in mind, it provided the perfect place for just the one night too.

We booked the Standard room and were upgraded to a Superior room with kitchenette.  This included:

  • iPod docking station and LCD Television
  • Desk and chair with phone
  • Bathroom with complimentary toiletries and hairdryer
  • Tea and Coffee making facilities
  • Kitchenette

Grounds

  • We did not notice any grounds as such due to the location of the hotel being in the heart of Manhattan where space is limited and extremely valuable.

Location

Centrally located in Manhattan, this hotel has a lot to see and do in easy walking distance. There are also plenty of supermarkets and eateries close by.

  • Trinity Church
  • Stock Exchange
  • Walk to SoHo, Tribeca, Little Italy and Chinatown
  • Brooklyn Bridge and Ellis Island are not far away

Pros

  • We requested a room on a high level with a view and were granted that on the 18th floor
  • We received an upgrade from a standard room to a superior room with kitchenette
  • Roof top bar provided some excellent views outside on the 20th floor
  • Water station in the hall with plastic bottles and lids
  • Loved the lounge with the food and drinks station

Cons

  • I really can’t think of any

Summary

I highly recommend this place for either short or long term stays, especially if you choose a room with a kitchenette.  The water station was a great idea as was the lounge containing comfortable chairs and hot and cold drinks as well as snacks.
