Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel, Sydney, NSW, Australia review – August 2014

Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel

This four and half star hotel is situated in Sydney Airport’s International terminal which is extremely convenient if you have an early morning flight to catch as it is literally just across the road.  We stayed in a Deluxe King Room which included a King bed and views of the Sydney skyline and airport.  Other room features included free Wi-Fi, 42″ TV with free to air and cable TV channels, blackout curtains and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a shuttle although the International airport is just across the road.

We had great views of the runway and it was fun to watch aircraft from all over the world take off and land in front of us.  The double or triple glazed windows were doing a great job at keeping out the noise.

Breakfast at the Blackwattle Grill included a wide assortment of hot and cold food and juices stored in attractive glass bottles.  I particularly liked the chorizo and bean dish but all the food was tasty.

Pros

Extremely convenient for catching an early morning flight

King rooms provide interesting views of the airport

Buffet breakfast was very good

Fairly new still and modern

Comfortable and large beds in the King rooms

Cons

No complimentary bottled water, biscuits or newspaper

A bit more expensive than other accommodation, especially when including the buffet breakfast.

In Summary: The expense is worth the convenience when you have a morning flight to catch and are from a different city.
