Amana Villas, Seminyak Indonesia (now Equilibria Hotel) Accommodation review – August 2014

Amana Villas Seminyak Bali Equilibria Hotel

On arriving we checked in and were taken to our pool villa which had our own private pool.  In the lounge adjoined to our room, there was a table set up with cold drinks, refresher towels and a piece of cake each.  We were introduced to our private butler and told how to order breakfast.

What made our stay here memorable was our last day when we were upgraded to a waterfall suite with late checkout.  Our flight did not leave until just before midnight so to have the use of this amazing upstairs downstairs suite for the entire day was heaven.  Our private infinity pool upstairs overflowed to create the waterfall downstairs just a couple of metres in front of the King bed.  The pool and the waterfall provided hours of entertainment and it was great to be able to have a late shower and arrive at the airport feeling truly relaxed and refreshed.

Pros

Private butler

Close to shops and eateries

Upgrade on last day was really appreciated

Private pool

Cons

No restaurant on site

A bit pricey compared with other places

In summary:  the location of the Amana Villas was superb with easy access to the shops and eateries.  Our last day in the upgraded Waterfall suite is a day I’ll never forget and I believe the resort has expanded and added a number of new facilities and services since we were there in August 2015.  Despite the personal butler, I didn’t feel the level of service was as good as the Ayung Resort and the grounds and the food were not as good either.  It was also a bit expensive and for the money, I probably wouldn’t stay there again.  We did appreciate the upgrade on the last day though and being able to access restaurants so easily meant we didn’t have to eat at the resort each night.
