Vogue Resort & Spa, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand Accommodation review – April 2013

Vogue Resort & Spa, Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

We booked a Deluxe Room including breakfast for seven nights which cost us an amazing $557 for the two of us.  Located about 40 minutes from the Krabi airport, the resort was well situated, in easy walk of shops and restaurants.  We were welcomed with a small glass of juice whilst the check-in procedures took place.  Our bags were then taken up to our room.  The room was swallowed up by a massive bed and there was also a fridge, safe and free Wi-Fi.  We had our own verandah that overlooked the tree tops.  Whilst not as grand as some of the other Thai resorts we’ve stayed in, this place would do nicely and was well worth the money.

The breakfast room was large and nicely decorated with a choice of Thai and Western food. Among the selection of fruits was rose apple which I tried for the first time.  Each morning they varied the Thai dishes so we never tired of the same food.  We chose to eat outside when we could, taking advantage of the fresh tropical air.

The pool was lovely and so too were the gardens surrounding it.  It was very relaxing sitting by the pool with a drink from the pool bar.

Pros

Friendly staff

The place had a pleasant old Thai charm feel about it

Well located being about a five minute walk to the beach, easy access to the long tail boats and surrounded by eateries, shops and massage places

Lovely pool and gardens

Cons

Starting to get a little dated

no lifts up to the higher levels which could pose a problem for some people

internet access not the best

street noise can be a bit of a problem

In Summary: we enjoyed our stay here and thought the place was nice, well located and good value for money.
