In a convenient part of town we spent one night at this hotel. The location was great but we felt the hotel was overpriced and showing signs of its age.

When we mentioned it to Reception, a man came up to our room and said it was the weather (which was just a lame excuse as the weather was fine).

Things to do in the Area
All the places we saw were on foot with most being within a 10 minute walk and nothing further than 20 minutes away. Places we visited whilst staying at Hilton Garden Times Square North included:
- Times Square (6 minute walk)
- Chelsea Market (30 minute walk)
For other places we visited when staying in a similar area please see my reviews for Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square North and Martinique New York on Broadway.
Pros

Cons
- My husband had trouble with the internet here
- No bottled water in room although we were able to get some from Reception
- The carpets in the hallway are quite stained
- Furniture in room scratched and looking a bit old which is strange despite its age

Summary
Doubletree by Hilton New York Times Square South is in a great location and if it wasn’t so expensive and the internet was better we would have happily extended our stay. Staff are friendly and although a warm chocolate chip cookie doesn’t cost much, it meant a lot and was delicious.
