We chose this place due it’s great ratings on Tripadvisor and also because of how well priced it was. We stayed for seven nights with breakfast included. Unfortunately, things didn’t get off to a great start. The staff who were collecting us from the airport turned up late and only had a car big enough to fit three of us in as an extra staff member came with the driver. They offered to split us up which we didn’t want and eventually an arrangement was made to get the four of us to the hotel together about an hour and twenty minutes away. When we turned up we were told that they thought we ordered transport for two people, despite our booking being for four people. We were given a welcome drink whilst we checked in and as it was nearly 2am Canberra time and we had an early start, we were all looking forward to a good night’s sleep.
The buffet breakfasts didn’t include a huge variety but what was there was tasty. In fact it was there that I had the best green chicken curry I’d ever tasted. We ate lunch at the resort on a couple of occasions and each time we found the food to be tasty.
The resort was large, the gardens attractive and a 30 metre swimming pool at the top of a hill provided views across the valley including the Buddha at the top of the hill .The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were large and comfortable. There was a safe, a TV and a fridge as well as a balcony to sit out on.
The resort is well located, away from the noise but in walking distance to shops, markets and the beach.
Pros
- Cheap
- Attractive grounds
- Nice food
- Breakfast was included in the rate
Cons
- The mix-up in picking us up from the airport is really the only thing that detracted from our stay
In Summary: Although this is no five star resort, for the money this place is extremely good value.
