North Sydney Harbourview Hotel, Sydney NSW, Australia

As its name suggests, this place will give you some great views of the harbour and Sydney Harbour Bridge if you choose a harbour view room.  We’ve stayed here a few times over the years and the view from the window never disappoints.

For the views you get, the prices are generally pretty good although this time we booked late and the place was nearly full so we ended up paying  $289 for a harbour view room on the first floor.  This was for two people and didn’t include breakfast.

The rooms are spacious and very clean.  The beds and pillows were very comfortable with either a feather or feather and down underlay.  Located right near the rail station and being so low down meant you could hear the trains going past on a regular basis.  The room appeared well equipped with everything you would need and the bathroom was clean and modern.  You could even get a view of the harbour from the toilet!

The mini bar provided a modest but adequate supply of goods as well as more drinks and snacks in the fridge below.  There were two packets of complimentary biscuits which I always appreciate as it seems to becoming rarer to find these days.  Although there was no complimentary bottled water, there were glasses and the tap water was fine to drink.

It’s hard to tire from the view out the window of Sydney Harbour Bridge all lit up along with Luna Park below it and the skyscrapers in the background.  We were lucky enough on one of our stays to catch a fireworks display from our room.  Although we didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel this time, from past experiences we found the selection to be good and the food tasty.

In Summary: The fact we have stayed here on a number of occasions is testimony to it being a great place to stay.  The weekend packages are especially good value and if you want a great view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from your window, you will not be disappointed.
